Known to the world as the poorest country and holding the lowest ranking country in the Western Hemisphere according to the United Nations Human Rights Index; Haiti is where I belong and my aim is to give back to the country that suffered and bled to make us what we truly are today.
Looking back at the quick synopsis of what Haiti is to us.
It’s the western part of the former Spanish island of Hispaniola, believing to have one of the largest mixes of African slave colonies in the Caribbean of a population of nearly 519,000 in 1791, 87 percent were African slaves and due to extremely harsh living and working conditions, many slaves died, and new slaves were imported which created a nation of mixed racial origin.

Not only was Haiti home to the massive majority of African slaves, Haiti has a diverse group of diasporas from many countries around the world including Germany, Italy, China, Lebanon, Pakistan, Syria, and Poland. Those people often times left their country of origin due to political instabilities or wars.
Today we want to highlight the spirit of belonging, possession and pride in the young descendants of the Haitian community.
Haiti is the soul of the Caribbean and the first black independent country in the world. During the past years, Haiti became a hotspot for the foreign investors and tourists from all around the world. Now if you go to Haiti, you can find a lot of new international hotel chains.
